Clifford Berryman Bear is a faithful rendition of the original teddy bear depicted in the 1902 political cartoon by Washington Post artist Clifford Berryman. In his drawing, Berryman recreated President Teddy Roosevelt's refusal to shoot a bear while hunting. This was the first of many cartoons Berryman would draw featuring President Roosevelt with his namesake bear. Presented in commemoration of the teddy bear's 100th anniversary, Clifford Berryman Bear is meticulously crafted and highly appointed, capturing the spirit, personality and magic of berryman's original cartoon design. It is a true collectible for young and old alike. These bears feature the distinctive heartshaped face and "googlie" eyes seen n the cartoonist Clifford Berryman's famous drawings. The body fabric is 15mm tip-dyed German Mohair, dark brown over medium brown, stuffed with polyester fiber (conjugated and surface silcone treated). The body is fully jointed with brown paws made from ultra synthetic suede.
The face is cream German Mohair wth plastic shoe button eyes and open mouth. The ears are fullsized. THIS BEAR IS 17" LONG AND 13" SEATED. *See other sizes of this same bear.
