It has been listed by yankee magazine in the may-june issue,page 118, as one of the top 20 Vermont Events this summer. Musicians include John Taylor and Mike, Donna Allen and her sisters called "Innovation Together Again", Andy Scott and Jack Carroll's group with Brian Waldo on drums and the Shugardaddies. There will be crafters and flea market booths and, for the kids, the Moon Walk, face painting and games on the lawn. Silent auction is back and last but not least The New England Dukes and their Dukes of Hazard Cars. Great food from the famous Curtis Ribs and hot dogs and burgers by TARPS animal shelter. The 11th Annual Vermont State Zucchini Festival
This two-day event takes place in neighboring Ludlow. A must for anyone who has ever liked or disliked zucchini. Back by popular demand are the favorite kids events such as Z 150 inch auto race, zucchini carving and coloring and the crafts show has been expanded for this years edition. Ever popular Z Buck Auctions will continue along with the weighing of Vermont Largest Zucchini. New events will be Giant Inflatable Rides, a special kids T Shirt painting contest, major expansion of all kinds of zucchini foods and a cash auction. Entertainment on Saturday will feature the five piece "East Bay Jazz Combo". This group performed last year with their vintage jazz and swing music and was very popular with all ages. Sunday will have more great music. Ludlow is an easy 15 minute drive north of Chester.

34th Annual Chester Fall Craft Show & Sale Saturday & Sunday, September 20 & 21, 2008 rain or shineThis popular annual event is held on the Chester Village Green. Dozens of area crafts people offer their creations for show and sale. Not your typical craft fair by any means! Everything from artwork to clothing to home furnishings. The 34th annual "Sale on the Green" in Chester is ready for another great show of craft exhibiting. This two day event takes place Saturday, from 10 am -4 pm and Sunday from 10 am-4pm. A wide array of hand made craft and gift items from some of Vermont's most respected crafters including Jewelry, Knitted Items, Engraved Slate, Folk Art, Candles, Natural Soap, Quilting, Ornaments, Wood Miniatures, Silk Scarves, Toys, Clothes, Stained Glass, Ceramics, Clocks, Crocheted Items, Dolls, Dog Accessories, Maple Syrup, Bird Houses, and more. Delicious foods will be provided by local organizations including the Chester Rotary, American Legion, local schools, and others. There will be plenty of BBQ Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Chicken, Baked Potatoes, Hot Soup, Fajitas, Cotton Candy, Cakes and Cookies, Soft Ice Cream, Pretzels, Hot and Cold Beverages and more. Third Annual pre-Halloween cemetary tour Thursday October 25,2007 , 6pm--- led by historians dressed in colonial clothes by lanternlight thru the chester town cemetary. They will talk about various people who lived in chester and are buried in this cemetary. Actors in period clothes standing by the appropriate tombstones speak to their lives at that time. ( those wishing may give donations towards historical society restoration fund). Refreshments will be served after the tour. The next night , Friday , October 26, 2007 guests at the Hugging bear inn may participate in a jack-o-lantern cutting party. There will be the annual bonfire on Saturday, October 27 ,2007 behind the buildings across the street, Events occur Rain or shine.
December 6, 2008 - OVERTURE TO CHRISTMAS - Chester, Vermont's 21st Annual - Overture to Christmas Celebration Join us as we usher in the Holiday Season in Chester, Vermont. The Overture to Christmas was voted one of the 10 Best Winter Events in Vermont. The tradition continues with many fun activities for everyone. On Saturday Dec.- visit Santa and watch him turn on the town and tree lights. The gingerbread house contest continues to be popular. Enter a gingerbreadhouse and win a prize. Holiday concert and caroling with reception. Last year a creative new marionette show was added .
