Clifford Berryman Bear is a faithful rendition of the original teddy bear depicted in the 1902 political cartoon by Washington Post artist Clifford Berryman. In his drawing, Berryman recreated President Teddy Roosevelt's refusal to shoot a bear while hunting. This was the first of many cartoons Berryman would draw featuring President Roosevelt with his namesake bear.
